Guangdong Vocational College of Judicial Police Officers is a provincial public full-time ordinary college approved by Guangdong Provincial People's Government. It is the only higher vocational college in Guangdong Province that trains judicial police officers. It is also the base for training judicial administrative professionals, improving the quality of police officers, studying the applied theory of judicial administration and inheriting and innovating the culture of rule of law. The college is organized by the deputy department level, managed by the Provincial Department of Justice, and professionally guided by the Provincial Department of Education.
The College is located in Longdong, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, adjacent to south china botanical garden and Longyandong Forest Park, with elegant environment and convenient transportation, and many universities around. College covers an area of132,000 square meters. Full-time teachers 189, professors 16, master tutor 1 person, 74 associate senior titles, part-time teachers on campus1person, and part-time teachers off campus 136. Students have won the first, second and third prizes in national and provincial competitions and industry skill competitions for many times. There are more than 4300 college students. The college has plenty of multimedia classrooms and well-equipped experimental training bases, such as judicial expertise center, simulated imprisonment center, psychological correction training center, criminal investigation technology training center, simulated trial, Yahweh quick recording training room, judicial expertise series laboratories, security prevention technology training room, network information security collaborative innovation training center, and prison special police riot training collaborative innovation base. There are 7 provincial college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training projects, 3 provincial college students' internship training bases and 1 provincial campus productive training base. In addition, 57 off-campus training bases have been established in cooperation with various units of the judicial administrative system, forming a perfect practical teaching system. The police gymnasium, with a building area of10.4 million square meters, provides sufficient venues and equipment for students' police physical training and skills training. There are 344,200 paper books and more than 250,000 electronic books in the college library, as well as academic resource libraries such as China Knowledge Network and Superstar Mobile Library, which can meet the needs of teachers and students for learning, information inquiry and professional research.
The college has nine teaching institutions, including the Department of Public Security Foundation, the Department of Police Physical Education and Skills, the Department of Ideological and Political Theory, the Department of Police, the Department of Information Management, the Department of Law, the Department of Judicial Appraisal, the Department of Security and the Department of Continuing Education, and offers 14 majors such as criminal execution and judicial police, which are supported by the central government and Guangdong Province respectively, and criminal investigation technology is a provincial brand building major. Seven majors, criminal execution, criminal investigation technology, administrative execution, criminal psychology measurement and correction technology, judicial policing, judicial information technology and judicial information security, have become national control majors.
The college cooperates with the Open College of South China Normal University to set up a self-study class for law majors (undergraduates), and provides undergraduate examination counseling (the study period is 2 years) in combination with the professional courses in our college. If all the undergraduate examination subjects are qualified, the South China Normal University and the Guangdong Provincial Self-taught Examination Committee will jointly issue the undergraduate diploma to realize undergraduate study.
