The Significance of University Ranking

1, ranking can stimulate the competitiveness of universities, promote schools to improve teaching quality and innovation ability, and also help students evaluate and choose universities. However, ranking may also bring negative effects, for example, leading some universities to overemphasize superficial work and neglect basic education and research work for ranking, resulting in a decline in the quality of education.

2. Have certain objectivity. Ranking usually involves a lot of data, such as the quality of education, scientific research level, the number of teachers and so on. Although these data can not fully represent the comprehensive strength of a university, they are also objective and helpful to understand the overall situation of the university.
