Shangrao Teachers College, formerly Shangrao Teachers College, was founded in 1958. 1959 was renamed northeastern Jiangxi University and closed during the Cultural Revolution. 1977 school resumed classes, and was upgraded to Shangrao Normal College with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Provincial People's Government in March 2000. In June, 2005, it passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education.
At present, the campus covers an area of116 mu, with a planned area of 1500 mu and a total construction area of 387,000 square meters. There are full-time students 146 17 (undergraduates13644). There are 1 key research base of culture, art and science in Jiangxi province, 1 targeted pharmaceutical engineering technology research center in Jiangxi province, 1 key laboratory of applied organic chemistry in ordinary universities in Jiangxi province, experimental teaching demonstration center in colleges and universities in Jiangxi province, intelligent engineering technology research center of electric vehicle parts in Jiangxi province, and research center of spiritual, economic and social development in Fang Zhimin in northeast Jiangxi province. At the same time, Jiangxi stem cell product engineering technology research center and Jiangxi tourism big data engineering research center were established in cooperation, and the school also cooperated with Nanjing University to establish the Jiangxi branch of the Republic of China History Research Center of Nanjing University.
The school's teaching and research facilities are relatively complete, with advanced teaching and experimental facilities such as digital campus network, professional laboratory, language lab, multimedia classroom, gymnasium and standard plastic track and field. In the past five years, college teachers have undertaken 369 national and provincial (ministerial) scientific research projects, published 50 monographs, published 27 academic papers 1.727 in journals above the provincial level, and 1.9 scientific research achievements have been awarded above the departmental level.
