Guangxi technological college of machinery and electricity, founded in 1958, is located on the beautiful Acacia Lake and Yongjiang River in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, the "China Greentown". College was established in May, 1956. Approved by the people's government of the autonomous region in 2002, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college on the basis of Guangxi Hydropower School. In 2003, with the approval of the people's government of the autonomous region, Guangxi Hydropower Technical School was merged into the college and was affiliated to Guangxi Water Resources Department.
