The school originated from Beijing Petroleum Institute 1952 1 1 established in June. The school has Qingdao Tangdaowan Campus, Guzhen Kou Campus and Dongying Science and Education Park, with a total campus area of more than 5,000 mu, a building area of10.3 million square meters and a library collection of 310.5 million books. At present, there are 16 teaching colleges (departments), 6 1 undergraduate enrollment majors,1/postdoctoral research stations and 14 first-class doctoral programs.

There are 3 doctoral programs in 2 disciplines, 9 interdisciplinary doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral programs, 33 first-level discipline master programs, 1 two disciplines master program, 15 professional master programs.
