Yang Shanshen (1913 10 20041October 26th-May 15) is a Hakka in Chixi Town, Taishan County, Guangdong Province. He loved painting since childhood, and began to copy ancient paintings at the age of 12. From 65438 to 0930, he moved to Hong Kong. 1933, 20 years old, started painting. 1935 studied in Japan and studied fine arts at Youben Art College in Kyoto. 1938 returned to China and held his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. 1940 went to Singapore and Nanyang to hold an art exhibition. 194 1 year, Gao, Feng Kanghou and others set up a "cooperative society" in Macao. 1945, Gao, Chen,, and Li Gemin established a "modern society" in Guangzhou. 1949 settled in Hong Kong. From 65438 to 0958, he held solo exhibitions in new york, San Francisco and Honolulu. 1970, Chunfeng Painting Society was established in Hong Kong to teach painting art, and was awarded the title of philosopher by Taiwan Province Academic Research Association in the same year. 197 1 year, he traveled to more than ten countries in the world. He created a combination of Chinese and western painting, paid attention to sketching, and found a new way on the basis of inheriting the fine tradition of Lingnan painting school, forming a distinctive personal style and becoming the main representative painter of Lingnan painting school. The works are novel in conception, concise in pen and ink, ingenious and clumsy, bold and elegant, good at flowers, birds and animals, and unique in characters.

From 65438 to 0999, Yang Shanshen was awarded the Visual Arts Achievement Award by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. In 2000, the Yang Shanshen Branch of Guangzhou Art Museum was unveiled, and the Guangzhou Municipal Government awarded Yang Shanshen the title of "Honorary Citizen of Guangzhou". In 200 1 year, Yang Shanshen created a huge old pine tree called evergreen tree and presented it to the Great Hall of the People.

On May 5th, 2004, Yang Shanshen, a master of Lingnan School of Painting, died at his home in Baoshan Road, Hong Kong at the age of 9 1.
