The middle school affiliated to Shanxi University is a provincial model middle school, which was founded in 1955. The middle school affiliated to Shanxi University was formerly the school for children of cadres in Shanxi Province, which was merged from Taihang Military Region and Taiyue Military Region and moved to Taiyuan. 1963 was designated as a provincial key middle school.
