First, must-see attractions: Bund, Lujiazui; Old Town God Temple; People's Square; Huaihai Road or Xujiahui Business Circle
1, Bund and Lujiazui: It is no exaggeration to say that never having been to the Bund means never having been to Shanghai. Dozens of buildings along the river, which were built at the end of 19 and the beginning of last century, witnessed the century-old history of Shanghai's opening. They have stood for nearly a hundred years and remain the same. Even from an artistic point of view, their value is immeasurable. Perhaps the legendary big columns and exquisite murals and sculptures will not be seen by ordinary tourists, but that long row of buildings is actually seamless, and overlooking the magnificent scenery by the river may be enough. Opposite the Bund is Lujiazui, and almost all the buildings here are the products of Pudong's development and opening up. Now they have become symbols of the new Shanghai. It seems unnecessary to climb the Oriental Pearl Tower. Jinmao Tower is worth a closer look.
Perhaps Lujiazui is the most upscale business center in Shanghai, with a large number of foreign-funded enterprises and Chinese and foreign financial institutions. It is a well-planned emerging business center. If you have money and time, you can also visit the newly-built aquarium, but I personally don't think it is worth recommending. The best way from the Bund to Lujiazui is to take a ferry, which is cheap and can enjoy the scenery on both sides of the strait for a long time. The wharf is located at Jinling Road at the southern end of the Bund. The disadvantage is that you may have to walk some way to get to Pudong. The sightseeing tunnel is too expensive, but it can reach the foot of the Oriental Pearl. There are also the Science and Technology Museum and Century Park built in Pudong in recent years, but I don't like these places very much.
2. Old Town God Temple: When foreign tour groups come to Shanghai, they usually visit the Old Town God Temple. In fact, only large commercial cities visit ancient buildings, most of which are tourist souvenir shops and gold shops. Of course, the Old Town God Temple is not in name only. After all, Yu Garden is a well-preserved ancient garden of Ming and Qing Dynasties in the center of Shanghai, and you can see the remains of Yu Linglong or the petrochemical gang at the entrance. The Chenghuang Temple, once occupied as a shopping mall for a long time, has now resumed its old pattern and is dedicated to Huang Cheng; The Jiuqu Bridge in the Hu Xin Pavilion is the center of the Old Town God Temple, and it still maintains its old appearance decades ago. The south of the Old Town God Temple is adjacent to Shanghai Old Street, which is a semi-reconstructed and semi-reconstructed antique commercial street. However, the basic business is still the same as before the transformation, from which we can see the face of the old city of Shanghai.
To the north is the newly-built Ancient City Park, from which you can go directly to the newly-opened section of the Bund. For Shanghainese, the main attraction of this place comes from the small commodity center outside the shopping mall. The self-employed center has gathered all kinds of small commodities, which can be examined and approved separately. In addition, the specialty stores in shopping malls can also provide some goods that are difficult to find in other commercial streets. 3. People's Square: People's Square has long been the political center and large-scale mass activity place in Shanghai.
But the last large-scale mass rally here seems to date back to June 13 years ago. It is also the geographical center of Shanghai, and the national highway mileage starts from the center of People's Square. A new round of renovation project is under way, and the result of the last round of renovation is to build People's Square into a civic cultural and leisure center. People's Avenue runs through things. The center of the avenue is the Shanghai Municipal Government Building in the north, and the fountain square and museum are in the south. On both sides of the municipal government building are the Shanghai Grand Theatre and the Planning Exhibition Hall. There is little value in visiting it. On both sides of the museum are green spaces. Underground Hong Kong Street can be regarded as an earlier fashionable commercial street in Shanghai. Shanghai Museum is a place worth visiting carefully. It is mainly composed of bronzes, ancient ceramics and ancient paintings and calligraphy in China, and it is particularly famous.
From People's Square to the north, you can reach Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street and Shanghai Art Museum (which used to be Shanghai Library for a long time), to the east, Fuzhou Road Culture Street (foreign language bookstore and ancient book bookstore are valuable to readers, but the largest bookstore is a bit messy), and not far from the south, there is a world-famous one.
4. Huaihai Road Commercial Street: The younger generation in Shanghai may be more willing to buy fashion at Huaihai Road. Even if you go shopping on weekends, Huaihai Road has already replaced Nanjing East Road. Now Huaihai Road can be said to be a fashionable street in Shanghai. Huaihai Road Commercial Street generally starts from Changshu Road, where there are beautiful department stores famous for selling sky-high fashion (the shopping malls on Nanjing West Road can match him). However, most Shanghainese visit Huaihai Road on Xiangyang Road. The clothing fair here is transplanted from the most famous Huating Road, which attracts a large number of customers with leading fashion and cheap price. To the east, Parkson on Shaanxi Road and Spring in Paris are two major shopping malls. To the east, you can go to Isetan, which is earlier in Huating, and to the east, you can go to Pacific Department Store. They are all famous high-end shopping malls in Shanghai. The general destination is Tibet Road. A large number of important modern buildings and key cultural relics protection units in Shanghai are scattered along Huaihai Road. Famous ones include the site of the First Congress of China, the former residence of Sun Yat-sen, Jinjiang Hotel, Zhou Mansion, Lanxin Grand Theatre, Xiangyang Road Orthodox Church, Mahler's former residence (formerly Shanghai Communist Youth League Committee) and so on. The newly heated Xintiandi is also near Huaihai Road. Besides, Shaanxi Road, Shimen Road and yandang road, which intersect Huaihai Road, are important fashionable and leisure streets in Shanghai.
5. Xujiahui business circle: Xujiahui, like Huaihai Road, has become a fashion center for the younger generation. Now Xujiahui has gradually changed with the completion of the Oriental Commercial Building. At that time, the Oriental Commercial Building attracted a large number of citizens to visit by providing unique high-end consumer goods. Then, Pacific Department Store and Huijin Department Store were completed one after another, and the transformation of Liushi Store gradually gathered more and more popularity. Recently, Ganghui Plaza, a large shopping center, was completed. The two multi-hall cinemas in Xujiahui, Kodak and Yongle, are the big box office winners in Shencheng, and are also rare cinemas with digital equipment in China. In addition, Bainaohui and Pacific Computer City are the main distribution centers of Shanghai citizens' computers, and Shanghai Jiaotong University is not far north of Xujiahui. There are two other places worth noting.
One is Xujiahui Catholic Church, which is the residence of Catholic bishops in China. Together with Sheshan Catholic Church, it became the representative of excellent religious buildings in modern Shanghai. Another place that may not be well known is Xu Guangqi's Tomb, which is about two stops away from the business circle. However, the tomb area is not large, and only the inscriptions on both sides explain the special identity of the tomb owner. You can rest in the newly-built Xujiahui Park when you are tired of sightseeing, but I don't accept the design of Xujiahui Park, because this green space has almost completely erased two important witnesses of Shanghai's historical development: Greater China Rubber Factory, the representative of China's early national industry, and Old White Belt Company, the originator of China's recording industry (China Recording Industry Shanghai Company, I went there three years ago, and saw that employees were still working in the old building built in the 1930s and 40s). Now there is only a chimney and a lonely building left here. 2. Other suggested routes: along Suzhou River; Near Luxun Park, Duolun Road and Sichuan North Road; Nanjing West Road Business Circle; Hengshan road Fuxing West Road Villa Consulate District;
6. Suzhou River: Suzhou River may be a place that tourists easily miss, but if you want to know about Shanghai, Suzhou River may provide a lot of useful information. Its destinations are Waibaidu Bridge and broadway mansions, as well as Pujiang Hotel, Russian Consulate and Postal Building on the north bank of Hebei, all of which are important witnesses to the modern history of China. Generally, if you go to the Bund, it is recommended to take Waibaidu Bridge to the north bank of Hebei. Further west, it gradually became a low civilian area and many old warehouses, mixed with some cheap abandoned warehouses rented by many artists now. After crossing Tibet Road, there will be more new commercial houses.
When I was in middle school, I rode my bike to Suzhou River west of Beixinjing, which was still the scenery of Jiangnan water town. Residents wash clothes by the river and raise ducks in the river. I don't know. The renovation of Suzhou River has gradually turned this smelly river from black to yellow. The limited shoreline reconstruction is mainly to build a green belt along the river. The banks of Suzhou River east of Tibet Road have remained basically the same for decades. Its important scenic spot is at the intersection of its estuary and Huangpu River, but the whole river can really provide many scenery closely related to the life of Shanghainese. 7. Luxun Park, near Sichuan North Road: Luxun Park, near hongkou football stadium, is the home of Shanghai Shenhua Team, which was recently completed. This is the place where Shanghai cultural celebrities lived in the 1930s and 1940s, and a large area of intact Shikumen was preserved. Lu Xun's former residence is located in an ordinary Shikumen on Yinshan Road, which is an independent small unit.
However, compared with Shanghai people now, Lu Xun's former residence is spacious and luxurious enough. The former residence is surrounded by residents living in the same Shikumen, so it is not compared. Duolun Road looks neat and clean after renovation, and there are also many former residences of modern intellectuals. I don't remember their names. You can refer to the roadside signs. Last time I went there to play with my girlfriend, I found many literate footprints on a small road, which was also quite interesting. Some newly opened bars on Duolun Road are also very distinctive, and there are also private collections for a fee. You can have a look if you are interested. Lu Xun's tomb was moved to Lu Xun Park on 196 1, and there is a memorial hall not far from the gate of the park. Luxun Park has now become a hot spot for Japanese and Korean tourists. On the day I went, there were two Korean groups, one for adults and the other for children. The Japanese naturally came for Lu Xun, and the Koreans came because a Korean (like Yin) bombed the Japanese generals there in the 1930s, and the Koreans received patriotic education. I forgot the specific allusions. As a matter of fact, there is a stone tablet there now, indicating the place where Acts happened just now.
8. Nanjing West Road Business Circle: Nanjing West Road Business Circle is a new business center.
Generally, it can be elevated from north to south to Jing 'an Temple, but in fact, we can refer to three major commercial buildings: Meilong Town Plaza, hang lung plaza and CITIC Pacific Plaza near Shaanxi North Road. These three buildings are also part of many office buildings on Nanjing West Road. Formed a small-scale and large-scale business circle. Among them, Meilong Town Square is a shopping mall that Shanghai white-collar workers prefer to visit. It was built earlier and the price was higher. The other two buildings are dominated by senior business people. I can only stare at the price of thousands of shirts. There are two old hotels near the commercial building that deserve the attention of gourmets: one is the old hotel in Meilong Town, and the other is the Pearl River Hotel at the intersection of Shaanxi Road and Nanjing West Road. Both of them are well-known hotels in Shanghai, but the prices are also relatively low.
There are many small private restaurants in Wujiang Road Leisure Street near Shimen Road, which provide snacks with various flavors. In addition, there are two places on Nanjing West Road for tourists to visit. One is the Shanghai Exhibition Center, also known as the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building, which is the sister building of the Beijing Exhibition Center built at the beginning of liberation. It is a palace-style building complex with the style of the former Soviet Union, and it is also the place where the two sessions are held in Shanghai at present. Opposite the Portman Hotel where Clinton stayed during his visit to Shanghai, it was once the tallest building in the city and a symbol of Shanghai. In addition, Jing 'an Temple is not as big as Longhua Temple in the south of Shanghai, and its historical value is not as good as Xinyang Temple (a national key cultural protection unit) in the northwest of Shanghai, and there are no two five-priced jade buddhas in Jade Buddha Temple. So I personally think it's of little value.
9. hengshan road Fuxing West Road Foreign House Consulate Area: hengshan road area is a relatively small area in Shanghai, basically maintaining the appearance of the early liberation. Once, a netizen mentioned the old French phoenix tree on both sides of hengshan road, which was really a sight in Shanghai. At present, consulates in Shanghai are concentrated in Fuxing West Road, hengshan road and alm.
Hengshan road Leisure Street is dominated by high-end bars and leisure hotels, and it is also the favorite place for Shanghai white-collar workers. You must be prepared to spend money there. Back to a restaurant, a pot of French fries costs more than 30 yuan, and a cup of coffee costs more than 30 yuan. But I haven't been to bars and restaurants in Xintiandi, and it is estimated that people who behead there are more hateful. There are no particularly valuable attractions in the whole street, just feel the atmosphere. Shanghai Library is located at the intersection of Fuxing West Road, Gao 'an Road. In addition, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is also located on a quiet road there. Further west, you can find the former residence of Soong Ching Ling on Huaihai Road and the Shanghai Cinema on Xinhua Road (the premiere of domestic and foreign blockbusters in China is often held here), but it is very close to Xujiahui.
Third, the marginal route: Longhua Temple area; Hongqiao Development Zone and Gubei Community; Shanghai universities; 10. Longhua area: I went to Longhua in middle school. It still looks like an ancient town with small streets, just like the small commercial street in Zhujiajiao, Zhouzhuang. Recently, Longhua has undergone a large-scale transformation, demolished shanty towns and built Longhua tourist city, but it has not yet become a tourist hotspot in Shanghai.
Moved to Longhua after work. For foreign tourists, Longhua's main attractions are Longhua Temple Tower and Martyrs Cemetery. Si Long Temple is probably the largest Buddhist temple in Shanghai. According to its architectural style, it may have been built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Long Ta is more famous than temples. According to the lettering brick at the bottom of the tower, it was built in the Song Dynasty (the specific period is still controversial, but there is obviously no record of construction or reconstruction in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties). It is probably the oldest building in Shanghai, well preserved, simple and beautiful. Dragon Palace still keeps the habit of holding temple fairs on the first and fifteenth day of each month, but it has become a big gathering of small shops. Every spring, there is a temple fair for two weeks, which mainly focuses on small commodities and some folk art performances. Longhua Martyrs Cemetery was built on the basis of Longhua Park. Its main attraction is the famous site of garrison headquarters in Huxian County. After the transformation, the men's and women's prison areas and the martyrs' sacrifice places (execution grounds) were opened to the outside world. But there is no explanation for the old buildings outside the prison area.
In addition, there are many cemeteries of early leaders, revolutionary martyrs and famous patriots of China's * * * production party, such as, Hui, Li Bai, Zhou Taofen and five martyrs of the Left Alliance. This cemetery is often visited by foreigners. I wonder what they came to see. Now Longhua is a typical suburban town in Shanghai, and it will feel different from the urban area here. 1 1. Hongqiao Development Zone and Gubei Community: Hongqiao Development Zone was once the place where China attracted the most foreign investment and once became a symbol of Shanghai's opening to the outside world. However, with the development and opening up of Pudong, Hongqiao Development Zone gradually lost its position as the most important business district in Shanghai and became a regional business center. From Hongqiao airport to the city, you can see the whole development zone along the way.
The area is not large, but there are many high-rise buildings with different architectural styles. Yan 'an Road Elevated and Inner Ring Road Elevated form its two edges. Hongqiao Development Zone has been looking for new positioning, one of which is the exhibition industry. There are many large exhibition centers in Shanghai, which mainly serve industrial and commercial exhibitions and have formed a certain scale. Gubei Community, not far from it, is an early high-grade community in Shanghai. Its main targets are foreigners and returnees, and it has formed a completely different atmosphere from Shanghai's local residential areas. An ancient boundary of Hongqiao Development Zone is an important record of Shanghai's development, although its status is not as good as before. There are other important scenic spots in this area, including Shanghai Zoo, Soong Ching Ling Cemetery, Xijiao Hotel and Hongqiao Hotel, all of which are quadrangles where state leaders often stay. In addition, Shangba, one of the three major ballet companies in China, is also located in this area. 12. Universities in Shanghai: Because I like to visit universities around the world when I go out, I would like to introduce the geographical distribution of several universities in Shanghai.
East China University of Political Science and Law: In the northwest, adjacent to Zhongshan Park and across Suzhou River, the old campus with distinctive features can find many historical relics of Shanghai's modern higher education. Shanghai International Studies University: Northeast, near Lu Xun Park, with a small campus and dormitories outside. Tongji University: Northeast, on the main road of siping road. I have never been there. Fudan University: In the northeast, near Wujiaochang, the Xiangtang, Mathematics Building and Economics Department in the west of the campus are all old buildings in the 1920s and 1930s, which are quite distinctive and can be reached not far north.
