Xu Hai College of China University of Mining and Technology is an independent college established by the new mechanism of China University of Mining and Technology. Established in 1999 and approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003. It is one of the earliest independent colleges in Jiangsu Province. The college is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city known as the thoroughfare of five provinces. It runs in Wenchang Campus of China University of Mining and Technology. The campus is adjacent to the scenic yunlong lake and Yunlong Mountain in the west, the Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower and Quanshan Science and Technology Square in the north, and the lush Quanshan Forest Park in the south, covering an area of 1.555 mu. The campus has complete teaching and research facilities, including 2 national key laboratories, 2 national engineering (technology) research centers, 3 national engineering laboratories, 4 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 2 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 23 other provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering (technology) research centers, as well as low-carbon energy research institutes and Internet of Things (sensor mines) research centers. A library with 2.3 million books and 890,000 digital books, as well as complete cultural and sports living facilities that can meet the study and life needs of 20,000 students, have created good conditions for students to grow into talents. At present, the college has more than 7,600 ordinary undergraduates. Relying on the strong discipline and teaching advantages of China University of Mining and Technology, the College offers specialties oriented to social development and market demand. At present, there are 26 majors in 7 departments, including Economic Management Department, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department, Information and Electrical Engineering Department, Architectural Engineering Department, Computer Department, Foreign Language and Culture Department, Literature and Art Department, among which science and engineering 15 major, economic management major, literature and art major and foreign language major.
