The library of Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1978 1 and moved into the new library in 2000. The library covers a total area of 7,800 square meters, with 8 reading rooms, 456 reading seats and 265,438 self-study seats. It consists of office, distribution department, editorial department, periodical department, exhibition and teaching center, information center and ancient books and documents room. The library has gradually formed a collection system which is mainly based on Chinese and Western medicine literature, supplemented by humanities and social sciences literature, featuring ancient books and compatible with other multidisciplinary documents.
