What is a picture book for children?
Children's picture books are picture story books, but they are not the same as "picture story books".

If the traditional picture book mode is "text+picture" and the picture is only a supplementary explanation to the text, then the picture book is "text × picture", which means that the pictures in the picture book are completely independent of the text and are an independent book form, with special emphasis on the internal relationship between the text and the picture. Words and pictures play an important role in telling stories, and pictures no longer only help and explain words. Some quite famous picture books even have only pictures and no words at all. However, there are also many picture books that balance the relationship between pictures and texts, set off each other and create the feeling of the whole picture book. The pictures in picture books are generally hand-painted, delicate and vivid. Pictures play a narrative, lyrical and expressive role in the whole work.

A good picture book, every image can speak, and there is a unique narrative relationship between the pictures, so that children can intuitively enter the world of picture books and listen to stories naturally and smoothly.

Picture books are the first choice for children's books in developed countries, and it is internationally recognized that "picture books are the most suitable books for children to read".

Picture books are designed for children, such as the British classic picture book Twinkle Little Star, and also for adults, such as Jimmy series.
