Where does the paper tie come from?
Paper binding is a unique folk art, which integrates paper cutting, painting, straw weaving, bamboo weaving and pasting. It is indeed time for paper media art to enter Wulian. According to an old man in Hongning Village, his ancestral home was engaged in paper binding during the light years of Qing Dynasty, and he was the fifth generation.

There are dozens of paper mills in Wulian County, mainly distributed in Hong Ning, Dujiagou, Chaohe, Xu Meng, Yuli and Wang Hu. Before liberation, cows, horses, sedan chairs, boxes, cornucopia, cash cows, lotus tables and figures in Dozza were used to pay homage to the people buried with them. Sometimes kites are tied, including Tiangong, Bagua, Phoenix, bangs, butterflies, swallows, moths and so on. And tied lanterns and dragon lanterns. Usually, people who hold happy events and build new houses should decorate them, such as tying the ceiling and beautifying the new houses.

With the development of the times, the ancient art of "paper binding" absorbs the advantages of sister art and glows with new brilliance. From 198 1, Wulian County Cultural Center and Library jointly held lantern riddles during the Spring Festival, and the paper lanterns selected and sent by each village were very attractive. 1986, Hongning Village created the paper binding artwork of "Shuanglong Play Pearl". Two dragons are coiled around two pillars, with a treasure in the middle and colorful clouds around. The artwork is only one meter high, unique in shape and profound in meaning. 1987 During the Spring Festival, Wulian County Supply and Marketing Cooperative made a dragon float. Two dragons are attached to both sides of the car, and the car is moving, shaking its head and wagging its tail, just like a real dragon walking around, and the audience is surrounded by the car, cheering and praising.
