The reason why the water surface of Jiaoling Lake wetland is higher than the lake surface is that Jiaoling Lake is not connected with the Yangtze River, Hanshui River and other water bodies, and the incoming water of its lake is supplemented by rainwater, surrounding lakes and other water systems. Jiaoling Lake is located in the downtown area of Hankou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, with Xinhua Road and Tangjiadun Road in the west, State-owned Assets Building in the north, Fortune Center in CFD era in the south, Jiaoling Lake No.1 residential building (Changjiang Daily Road) in the east and Xinhua Hospital in Hubei Province in the east. Before 1980s, it was named "Water Chestnut Lake" because of its abundant water chestnuts. Local villagers make a living by fishing, and the water quality is clear. Because Jiao Ling Lake is not connected with the Yangtze River, Hanshui River and other water bodies, the incoming water of its lake is supplemented by rainwater, surrounding lakes and other water systems. In the 1990s, with the development of the city, some enterprises, institutions and residents built a large number of buildings near the lake, which basically cut off all natural water sources from Jiaoling Lake. Jiaoling Lake lost its self-purification ability, and the water quality deteriorated year by year. In 2007, the water quality was found to be inferior to five categories. In 2008, the municipal government put forward the "One Lake and One Scene" project, which brought the water quality of Jiao Ling Lake into the scope of remediation. After rectification, the water quality was upgraded to five categories that year. The landscape planning and design of Jiaoling Lake Park completed by Wuhan Urban Landscape Design Institute has positioned this water park as an ecological park. At present, the water area of Jiaoling Lake is 910.5 million square meters. After the renovation, the total area of the park will increase from the current 15 1300 square meters to 183300 square meters. According to the plan, after the demolition of some buildings on Xinhua Road, the park will add 32,000 square meters of green space. Wanda plaza of Jiaoling Lake, which is separated from Jiaoling Lake Street, will also be completed and opened on 20 10. This brand-new shopping center with a planned area of 500,000 square meters integrates four major formats: shopping and entertainment center, indoor and outdoor leisure pedestrian street, fashionable apartment and boutique residence, covering multiple functions such as brand supermarket, international cinema, international digital plaza, top fitness club and parking lot. By then, it will bring great changes to the lives of citizens in Lingjiao Lake area.
