There are five universities in Shenzhen University Town, namely Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University, Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Branch of Harbin Institute of Technology and South University of Science and Technology. At present, Shenzhen University Town covers an area of about 1.54 square kilometers, with about 83 13 full-time students.

Shenzhen University Town is located in the northeast of Nanshan District (Xilitanglang District), Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to shenzhen safari park, about 10 km away from Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park, with an overall planned construction area of 10 square km. The first phase is planned to develop and build 3.8 square kilometers, which is divided into east campus and west campus. The construction of the university town began in 2002, and the teaching infrastructure was basically completed and settled in September 2003.
