1. Simplification: Simplification of complex clauses
Simplification refers to the reduction of clauses in complex sentences. There are some repetitive and empty elements in complex sentences. Eliminating them, saving space and simplifying sentences are the simplification of complex sentences and clauses. I know it's boring to talk about grammar, but this grammatical phenomenon is quite frequent in authentic English writing. I think mastering this tool is one of the signs of English writing. The following excerpt is from a cover article in Time magazine. The author Michael Schumann is an "old pen", and his writing pays more attention to expressiveness.
Punctuation: Flexible use of semicolons, colons, dashes and hyphens.
Punctuation marks refer to semicolons, colons, dashes (long dashes) and hyphens. Using commas and periods almost throughout is also a kind of "Chinese flavor". I think this is because our non-professional English education does not pay much attention to the use of these four punctuation marks. A colon indicates that the content quoted later is an enumeration, summary or elaboration of the previous content. Every time you add a colon, it's like reminding the reader: I'm going to start explaining. Using a colon as an enumeration can omit include/include and create a more eye-catching sign visually. Misunderstanding in writing

Writing format
