Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University Library was established in August, 1958. The original site was located in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, and moved to Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province in 2003. Now it is located in the hinterland of the new campus of Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University, surrounded by lakes and with pleasant scenery. The building covers an area of 26 173 square meters. The new building is novel in shape, magnificent in momentum and advanced in management concept. Books1376,000 copies (including 799,000 paper documents and 577,000 electronic books), with an average of books 1 15.4 copies and more than 3,000 reading seats. Order 0/000 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals every year, and introduce a variety of large databases in Chinese and foreign languages: Chongqing Weipu Chinese Sci-tech Journals Database (full text), Tsinghua Tongfang Chinese Academic Journals Database (full text), China Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Database, Agricola Database, Agris Database, ERIC Database, SpringerLink Database and ProQuestBiologyJournals. Based on the agricultural characteristics of this province, especially the agricultural production characteristics of Heilongjiang reclamation area, our library has gradually formed regional professional characteristics in the collection construction. The literature collection published by the Agricultural Reclamation System is relatively complete and is the designated collection of the World Food and Agriculture Organization.
