The Historical Evolution of the Library of Zhongyuan Institute of Technology
Zhongyuan Institute of Technology Library, formerly known as Jingwei Technical School Library, 1955 was founded with the school in Yuci, Shanxi. 1957 moved to Zhengzhou with the school, and was renamed Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Manufacturing School Library, Henan Textile Machinery College Library, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery School Library, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery College Library, etc. During the Cultural Revolution, the school was closed and changed to Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Parts Factory. The library disappeared, and all the books were allocated to Zhengzhou Library Science and Technology Branch. 1980, the school was re-established as Zhengzhou Textile and Electromechanical College. The library temporarily lived in the corner of the school teaching building, with a usable area of 646 square meters, and the collection of books was restored to 48,000. The independent building was built in 1982, and completed in early 1985. The name of this building was inscribed by the famous poet Mr. Cang Kejia. 1987 In February, the school was upgraded to Zhengzhou Textile Vocational and Technical College, and in July, 2000, it was renamed Zhongyuan Institute of Technology. There are currently three buildings in the library, namely, the South District, the West District and the North District.

Among them, the new building in the south area is 22,508 square meters, and 65,438+was put into use in February 2008. The new building stands in front of the door overlooking the national highway. It is the landmark building of the school. Its unique "dome twin" architectural style contains the beautiful meaning of "integrating the aura of heaven and earth, integrating the essence of humanity, stepping on the ladder of knowledge and climbing the hall of wisdom", which integrates wisdom, scholarly and harmony. The interior design is designed according to the principle of large bay, same load, same floor height and same column network, which is beneficial to the integration of collection, borrowing and reading. It is divided into four functional areas: office, reading, multi-function and research, with science and engineering (I, II and III), literature, social sciences, fashion art, economy and management, newspapers and periodicals, professional periodicals, foreign literature, retrieval literature and electronic literature. At present, there are 1 room and 1 conference department, which are library office, trade union, editing department, information technology department and reader service department respectively. There are 78 employees, including 7 with senior titles, 38 with intermediate titles and master's degree or above 17.
