Since the reform and opening up for more than 20 years, Fujian library has entered a new development period. A relatively complete modern comprehensive service system has been established, including literature borrowing, information consultation, computer retrieval, multimedia reading, Internet websites, computer training, professional education, database development, audio-visual and microfilm services. It receives more than 2,000 readers every day, and basically realizes office automation and online resource sharing at home and abroad, and has extensive contacts with colleagues at home and abroad.

While strengthening the automation and networking of libraries, Fujian Provincial Library has focused on the construction of online electronic information resources and special databases of regional joint cataloguing centers and provincial libraries in Fujian Province, and has successively established nearly 65,438+such as "Special Topics on State-owned Enterprise Reform", "Special Topics on WTO", "Fujian Edition Books", "Fujian-Taiwan Materials" and "Joint Catalogue of Public Libraries in Fujian Province". Since 1985, Fujian Provincial Library has been awarded the title of "provincial civilized unit" by Fujian Provincial Party Committee and provincial government for six consecutive years, and was awarded the title of "first-class library" and "national advanced collective of cultural work" by the Ministry of Culture in June.
