Hainan Normal University is the only multi-disciplinary provincial key normal university in Hainan Province that focuses on teacher education. It is the first batch of Chinese education bases approved by the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the second batch of national youth science and technology education bases named by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. Hainan Normal University, formerly known as Hainan Normal University, was founded in the autumn of 1949 and is the earliest institution of higher learning in Hainan. 1952 National colleges and universities were reorganized and renamed Hainan Normal University. 1962 adjustment of colleges and departments in national universities, Hainan Teachers College, Hainan Li and Miao Autonomous Region Teachers College and Hainan Institute of Technology merged into Hainan Teachers College. Hainan Normal University was the only normal college in Guangdong Province at that time. 1986 The name of Hainan Normal University was restored with the approval of the former State Education Commission. 1999 merged with Hainan Institute of Education. In 2004, the Ministry of Education agreed to build Hainan Normal University on the existing basis of the school. On May 8, 2007, it was officially renamed Hainan Normal University. Hainan Normal University has 15 teaching departments and 18 scientific research institutions. There are 17 master majors and 38 undergraduate majors. There are 5 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial humanities and social sciences research bases and 2 provincial key laboratories. Hainan University Teacher Training Center, Hainan Middle School Teachers' Continuing Education Training Center and China Education and Research Computer Network Hainan Network Center are all located here. Hainan Normal University enrolls students from 28 provinces (cities, districts). Hainan Normal University is located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, a beautiful national historical and cultural city. It covers an area of 3,346.86 mu, of which the current campus area is 84 1.26 mu, and the outer campus area of Guilin is 2,505.6 mu. Now the campus is a garden-style unit in Qiongshan City with a beautiful environment. Hainan Normal University has complete infrastructure and good conditions for teaching and research. The total area of the school building is 334,800 square meters.
