Zhejiang Media College was formerly known as Zhejiang Radio and Television School and Zhejiang Radio and Television College. Zhejiang Radio and Television School was founded in 1978, and Zhejiang Radio and Television College was founded in 1984. 1986 started national enrollment. In 2000, the two universities merged into Zhejiang Radio and Television College. In May 2004, the Ministry of Education officially approved the renaming of Zhejiang Media College.
Zhejiang Media College is an institution of higher learning established by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province to train media talents such as radio, film and television. It is a provincial-level institution and one of the two bases for training media professionals such as radio and film in China.
