1. Strengthen the theme image

When designing a layout, the measure to highlight and strengthen the theme image is to express the theme from multiple angles. For example, the front cover, back cover, front and back ring lining, catalogue, translation order, inscription and cover should have theme images, and each image should have different changes. Seek unity in change and further deepen the theme image.

2. Plate boundary defects

According to the golden section ratio, leave a square equivalent to the golden section law, that is, the upper and lower lines are used as one piece, the other top column is left blank, and the upper and lower lines are left blank. Blank layout is an effective means to inject vitality into layout. Boldly leaving a large area blank is the embodiment of modern book layout design consciousness. Proper and reasonable blank space can convey the designer's elegant aesthetic taste, break the rigid and boring routine, make the layout transparent, cheerful, jumping and fresh, visually give readers a light and pleasant stimulus and relax their eyesight. Of course, a large blank can't be used indiscriminately. Once blank, there must be echo and transition, so as not to form for the sake of form, resulting in empty layout.

6. Book eyebrows with patterns

Book eyebrows not only have the function of convenient retrieval, but also have the function of decoration. Generally, eyebrows only occupy one line, and they are only composed of horizontal lines and words. The use of patterns as book eyebrows, although exaggerated, is still very appropriate, which makes the characteristics of the performance object more distinct and prominent, and produces a surprising aesthetic feeling.

7. Increase the page number and font size

The page number of the book header breaks through the number five, and large letters are used to combine with the book header into an organic whole. After the pages are spread out, the double-code page and the single-code page take the sewing opening as the symmetry axis, and the two numbers are located at the top of the left and right incisions, which are far apart and stand symmetrically, making the book eyebrows very happy and innovative. It has played a role in adjusting the atmosphere of the book and making the finishing point.

8. Form content correspondence

I read a book "Midland Couplets" in the bookstore, which is an anthology of Guilin scenic spots couplets collected by 1990 Guilin from all over the country. The layout of this book is exquisite and elegant, and the form corresponds to the content, which not only embodies the sense of traditional culture, but also exudes a strong modern atmosphere, highlighting the book style characteristics of the new couplets. Its layout design mainly has the following characteristics: (1) vertical arrangement. The vertical arrangement of couplets is a traditional form in China, and only vertical arrangement can correspond to couplets.

(2) Imitate the couplets with the length of No.4 to make them exquisite and eye-catching and have the characteristics of traditional books; The title is in block letters No.3, deliberately highlighting the taste of China's calligraphy and handwriting; The author's name is Sihei, which is a modern font to imply that the authors of these couplets are contemporary.

(3) All the pages of the book are surrounded by civil and military borders, because the civil and military borders are one of the most distinctive forms in China's traditional book editions. (4) The book title and scenic spots of Shu Mei were written in Pingshu Song No.1, which was not available in ancient times, and it was also intended to imply that this was a couplet written by contemporary people.

9. The whole chart runs through.

Two Noble Relatives is the latest confirmed Shakespeare play in recent years. Among them, the publication of the translated version increased the number of Shakespeare's plays originally published in China from 37 to 38. The layout design of this book adopts the method of running through the whole text to deepen the theme. Each scene is a series of seals, and turning pages is like opening the stage curtain; Each scene has a title map, just like showing a visual scene on the stage; Twenty scenes in five acts, one big break and one small break. All the characters and scenes are vividly displayed in detail. Looking through this book is like watching a play with many acts and times. In this way, the layout design of this book highlights and strengthens the characteristics of this art form of script, tempting readers to read step by step.

Through the changes of various frame sizes and specifications, the plates are alive but not scattered, separated and continuous, and their rich pictures run through the book, making the whole book form an orderly battle with a strong sense of rhythm and integrity. In this way, the layout design of two aristocratic relatives set off the spirit of Shakespeare's plays and showed independent and intriguing formal beauty in practical application.

In all fairness, it is difficult to ask every designer to have a keen sense of smell for formal beauty; However, it is not unreasonable to consciously apply the law of formal beauty to design.

In all fairness, it is impossible to require the layout design of every book to be devoted to the point of painstaking efforts; But for the layout design of key books, it is not allowed to be sloppy, which is by no means harsh.

A prominent theme.

The ultimate goal of layout design is to make the layout clear and orderly, to better highlight the theme with pleasing organization, and to achieve the best appeal effect. In order to induce the layout well and highlight the theme of appeal clearly, it can be realized by grasping and using the spatial level, master-slave relationship, visual order and logical order of mutual understanding. 3. Strengthen the overall layout

It is manifested in the following aspects: the overall design of layout elements (pictures and pictures, pictures and words) in layout structure and color. In the case of few pictures and words, it needs to be carefully organized and positioned to obtain the order of the layout. Even the use of "scattered" structure is a deliberate pursuit in design. For linked pages or extended pages, don't consider the right page after designing the left page, otherwise it will inevitably lead to a loose state of an array and destroy the integrity of the layout. How to obtain the integrity of the layout can be considered from the following aspects: a, strengthen the overall structural organization and direction visual order. Such as horizontal structure, vertical structure, inclined structure, curved structure, etc. B, strengthen the collection of copywriting. Combine all kinds of information in the copy into a block to make the layout organized. C, strengthen the overall characteristics of the extended page.
