The process of land degradation monitoring and evaluation is the process of obtaining and processing index information, including monitoring network, remote sensing interpretation, field investigation, measured estimation and statistical data. Remote sensing data is the main data source for land degradation monitoring and evaluation at present. With the support of GIS, remote sensing images and GPS data are used to monitor and evaluate land degradation at different scales. The process flow is shown in Figure 3-3.
