I'm not familiar with building carpentry. I am a HVAC major in the Department of Civil Engineering. If you want to learn architectural drawing, you can buy a book called Architectural Drawing, and slowly read the legends, symbols and so on related to architecture. Or look for it at the university stall during graduation season, and you can receive it for a few dollars!
