Facing the complicated reading ecology in the information age, university libraries should actively analyze the reading tendency of college students, develop diversified reading services, help them adapt to the new reading environment, form correct reading habits and master correct reading methods.

Practical process

1. Design the questionnaire

The theme of this practice is "Investigation of College Students' Reading Habits and Promotion of Classic Reading". Jupiter Tiguan team focused on the reading habits of Nanjing college students and the popularity of university library journals, and they set the basic direction of the questionnaire for these two items. On the one hand, team members want to know the reading situation of college students today and whether there are many differences between students in different schools. They also want to explore the factors and extent of the interaction between college students' quality and reading habits. On the other hand, I am so unfamiliar with library periodicals, even the periodicals of Nanjing University Library, that when I first heard the term "library periodicals", I deliberately looked up a lot of materials, so that I could always have a basic perceptual or rational cognition. Therefore, participating in the design of such a questionnaire is also investigating yourself, just as teachers are educating themselves first, as a good opportunity to satisfy their interests and enrich their knowledge at the same time.

2. Issue questionnaires, field research and interviews.

Divide the questionnaire into two ways: paper and quiz stars, which are distributed in colleges and universities respectively, so that more people can be asked and more information can be obtained, and even the similarities and differences between network users and college students can be compared interestingly, making the data more popular and targeted. Team members take the subway, travel between universities and distribute paper questionnaires. During the field trip, there are more or less some problems, mainly two. First, when sending out questionnaires, many people are unwilling to take the time to fill out the questionnaires, resulting in a small sample size at the beginning. So the team members went back to discuss, and the questionnaire topic was reduced to 14 questions, mainly multiple-choice questions. In order to further expand the number of samples, questionnaires and postcards were also filled in, which attracted many people to fill in. Second, when filling in the questionnaire, there are many phenomena of random filling or omission, which leads to inaccurate sampling survey results and directly affects the survey results. In this regard, the team members observed when the respondents filled out the questionnaire, and from time to time induced reminders, or euphemistically pointed out the missing places and asked questions. In this way, the accuracy of the questionnaire is greatly improved.

3. Analyze the questionnaire

According to the questionnaire, as for the source motivation of reading, most of the respondents said that reading can draw spiritual food, or it can be boring to kill time and improve academic performance. It can be seen that most respondents' reading motivation is to improve themselves or kill time. Reading places are mainly concentrated in libraries, dormitories, classrooms and other places with good reading atmosphere. As for the frequency of going to the library, most people go to the library two or three times a week, or don't go to the library for a week. The purpose of going to the library is mostly reading and self-study. When asked if there were any library periodicals in their school, someone answered yes. Surprisingly, a large number of people don't know the existence of library periodicals. About the contents of library periodicals, books are generally recommended and so on. Regarding the tendency of paper books and e-books, most people like paper books. About the frequency of reading literature, most of them read a book a month, and the reading volume is small. As for the types of reading, novels and magazines are generally the teaching AIDS, which shows that reading is still very utilitarian. Regarding the frequency of reading electronic documents, many people said that they don't read electronic documents very much.

Reading motivation is still based on increasing knowledge and completing studies. Every social behavior has its purpose and motivation. The subjective reason for encouraging college students to study is the realization of their inner wishes. Exploring new things is the * * * nature of college students, and as students in school, it is also an unavoidable reality to complete their studies according to the requirements of the school, and they have a strong sense of learning responsibility and urgency, so it is logical for college students to attach importance to reading and learning related professional knowledge.
