Since its establishment, the library has sorted out, researched and developed nearly 100 kinds of precious ethnic ancient books such as Nuzhen, Mongolia, Tibet, Hui, Miao and Yi, such as Five Codes of Frontier Defense, A Brief History of Gurkha, Notes on E Ertai, New Hetao, Records of Yunnan, Travel Notes of Sichuan and Tibet, etc. More than 30 kinds of ancient books, genealogical catalogues, bibliographies of ethnic minorities, indexes of research materials of ethnic minorities and catalogues of local chronicles of ethnic minorities in China have been edited. Participated in editing over 0 kinds of special catalogues 10, such as the national joint catalogue of ancient books, the national joint catalogue of local chronicles, the joint catalogue of Manchu ancient books and the joint catalogue of Mongolian ancient books. Since 195 1, the library has been insisting on the collection of ethnic materials and constantly processing and sorting out ethnic documents. At present, more than 3440 volumes of ethnic materials have been compiled and processed over the past 50 years. This is the second document independently compiled by our library according to ethnic and regional themes.

The library has 36 Chinese periodicals, academic conferences in Chinese and western languages, graduate dissertations, important newspapers and periodicals, ethnic literature and audio-visual data databases. Among them, the original delivery platform of western periodicals (foreign language database of NSTL National Science and Technology Literature Center) can retrieve and obtain relevant foreign language documents in different places.
