Chongqing University of Arts and Science is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal University and Yuzhou Institute of Education, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In May, 20001,the two universities merged to form Yuxi College. In April 2005, it was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.

The school is located in Yongchuan District, Chongqing, with two campuses: Honghe and Xinghu. The campus covers an area of 1.767 mu, with a building area of 7 1.000 square meters, a collection of books 1.97 million copies, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 350 million yuan.

The school has more than 80 full-time and senior titles/kloc-0, more than 400 deputy senior titles, more than 380 teachers with doctoral degrees, and more than 80 part-time doctoral tutors and master tutors.

There are 20 foreign teachers and experts, more than 300 foreign experts, nearly 20,000 full-time undergraduates from more than 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and more than 0/00 overseas students from Russia, Italy, Malaysia and other countries.
