Re-recognize geography
It should be "Rediscovering Geography", which is a discussion and understanding of the contribution of geography to social and economic development in the new period published in the United States a few years ago. There is a Chinese translation, which was translated by Professor Huang Runhua.

I have a copy of this book in my hand, which was given to me by a domestic geography academician. The general background of writing this book is as follows:

In the last 30 years of the 20th century, geography developed rapidly in the United States, which can be said to be a quiet revolution. The theories and methods of geography have been attached importance to and applied in many fields. At the forefront of urban and rural planning, regional economics, epidemiology, anthropology, ecology, environmental science, conservation ecology and international relations, geographical concepts such as space and scale are widely used from the perspective of geography. The influence of geography goes far beyond its professional practitioners. In order to introduce the achievements of American geography to readers outside the field of geography in recent years, the Bureau of Geosciences and Resources of the Committee of Geosciences, Environment and Resources of the National Research Institute of the United States invited 16 geographers and three staff members to form the Rediscovery Committee, which was responsible for compiling the book Rediscovering Geography-A New Relationship with Science and Society, which was published by the National Academy of Sciences of the United States on 1997. The publication of this book has aroused enthusiastic response in the United States and other countries in the world. Domestic Keyuan Publishing House obtained the copyright of the book and published its Chinese translation in February 2002. Academician Wu Chuanjun from the Institute of Geography and Resources of China Academy of Sciences wrote a preface for the Chinese translation, briefly introduced the main contents of the book, and recommended the book to domestic geography colleagues and the public outside geography. This book is the first comprehensive evaluation of American geography in the past 30 years. Although the book provides a general overview of the subject, it does not spend a lot of time discussing the definition, content and scope of geography, but shows readers outside the geographical field how the perspectives, methods and tools of geography are used by educators, business circles, researchers and decision makers to deal with a wide range of scientific problems and social needs through a large number of examples. As the subtitle of this book shows, this book discusses the relationship between geography and society and science.
