The East Campus Library of Sun Yat-sen University was officially put into use on June 8, 2004. The first floor is a leisure service area, with readers' lounge and exhibition hall. The second floor is a comprehensive service area, with a general service desk, an information desk and a multimedia electronic reading area. * * * There are 206 periodicals1species, 40 newspapers1species, more than 7,000 reference books, and 9,000 CDs attached to the books. The third floor is the book circulation reading service area, with a collection of more than 240,000 Chinese and English books; The fourth floor is the newspaper bound volume reading service area, which contains periodicals 1.2 million copies and newspapers 1.3 million copies. The fifth floor is the reading service area of Xilesi Library, which contains a batch of western literature donated by Harvard College Library of Harvard University to Sun Yat-sen University Library, with * * *150,000 volumes.
Adhering to the concept of "wisdom and service", the library provides readers with various services such as literature borrowing, online information inquiry, reference consultation, electronic reading, laboratory borrowing and so on.
