Russia or the Russian Federation is the largest country in the world, with a vast territory, eleven time zones and a coastline of more than 23,000 miles. Russia is located in northeast Europe and north Asia. It borders the Arctic Ocean to the north, the North Pacific Ocean to the west and China.

It has a long history and a variety of cultures, and it combines western culture. Russians like opera, ballet and vodka. When they meet other people, they will shake hands with them. Russia is famous for its natural resources, with more than100,000 rivers, the largest forest and the largest lake (Lake Baikal) in the world. Russian is the main language, but there are more than 100 languages in China. Russia is famous for the Ballet of Moscow Grand Theatre, dancers Rudolf Nureyev and anna pavlova, classical composers Tchaikovsky and Rakhmaninov, and literary masters Tolstoy, Pushkin and Dostoevsky. Russia is also famous for its excellent vodka and caviar. Moscow is the capital and largest city of Russia, followed by St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
