Significance of Chinese Braille Library
The Chinese Braille Library aims to make the blind people enjoy the fruits of human civilization better, and at the same time arouse more social love to pay attention to this group. The library has also set up a visually impaired culture experience hall, a tactile museum and a blind culture and art exhibition room, from which visitors and readers can feel the mental outlook of the blind in China, watch the unique visually impaired culture and perceive China culture and world civilization through touch. The head of the Chinese Braille Library said that it will constantly improve and enrich its functions, and strive to build the Chinese Braille Library into a cultural, scientific and educational resource center and knowledge service center for the blind in China, and an important base for humanitarian education for the public and a window for foreign cultural exchanges. Zhang Haidi, chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, said at the opening ceremony that the cultural undertakings for the blind contain humanitarian connotations and reflect the social development and civilization progress of China. We should try our best to eliminate the information barriers brought by modern life to the blind, so that the blind can learn about life, acquire information and learn skills through timely and effective study and reading, and finally integrate into society.
