Generally speaking, the new TOEFL score can only be used for studying abroad, but IELTS is different, because it is divided into Class A and Class G, so its function is different. Class A IELTS scores can be used for studying abroad, and Class G IELTS scores can be used for applying for immigration.
2. The examination mechanism is different.
Ielts:
There are two ways of IELTS test: academic and training, which consists of four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Listening and speaking are the same, but reading and writing are different. The pronunciation skills of the two exams are different. The advantage of IELTS test is that you don't need to re-register, and the re-examination cancels the registration time limit. The test results are valid for two years. TOEFL:
TOEFL is a computer test, and the questions in each test area are the same. In order to ensure the fairness and rationality of the test, the test scores are graded manually.
3. The examination time is different.
The IELTS test lasts about 3.5 hours, divided into 40 minutes for listening, 60 minutes for reading, 60 minutes for writing and11-4 minutes for speaking.
The TOEFL test lasts about 4.5 hours. In reading and listening, half of the candidates will encounter additional questions, and reading will add 40 minutes (the reading time of two articles). Specifically, it is 3-4 articles and answers questions for 60-80 minutes; Listening: 2-3 dialogues, 4-6 lectures, 60-90 minutes.
4. Different degrees of recognition
