The National Library of China has a rich collection of books, complete categories, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, and a collection of essence. By the end of 2003, the collection of literature has reached 24 1 1 000 volumes (pieces), ranking fifth in the national library of the world, and increasing at the rate of 600,000-700,000 volumes (pieces) every year.
