Daqin Empire (Shanghai Century Edition), ***6 volumes 1 1 book, with more than 5 million words in total, is also the work of emperors, and it took Mr. Sun 16 years, reflecting a scholar's dignified thinking and rigorous scholarship.
"Daqin Empire", as its name implies, is the great empire of Daqin. From brewing, writing to final completion 16 years. How rigorous and persistent this is! Facing it, I don't want to read fast, but I want to be quiet and have no distractions, just looking for the quietest time period and the most suitable place to read. Even so, I still feel that I have read a little rough, for fear of not understanding the author's mind and not daring to put forward my immature ideas. That's why I dare not write anything.
But I still have some ideas. In reading, many ideas hinder me, lead me to think, and sometimes even torture me; But I have been reading. It took me nearly three months to finish reading it. If you count from the previous borrowing in the library, the whole reading process is only 4 months.
The desire to express, prompted me to share my thoughts with others, but also unconsciously penetrated into ancient prose explanation, ancient poetry reading, and even composition writing. Whether students are attracted or interested is unknown. Now, I finally read the whole book and am qualified to talk about my own ideas.
Before reading Mr. Sun's masterpiece, I read a version of the Great Qin Empire, and there was only a thin one, which didn't feel very practical. I found Mr. Sun's version and began to read it, and I realized more and more the massiness and broadness of his book. However, the library is too weak to read the first half, so we have to skip 1 and start reading the first half of volume 2 directly. Later, I still couldn't get through, and it was in vain to go to the museum several times; In the end, I had no choice but to bite my teeth and buy a set myself. In order to recall what I have read, I began to reread the 1 volume I have read.
Holding a book with a black cover every day, the whole person sinks into black history. Qin people worship water, but it's still black, the flag is all black, and the palace is also black-this black cover is particularly suitable for binding.
I am quite interested in history and like historical biography literature that reflects history. In addition to the sense of accomplishment when telling people, my inner sense of sureness makes me want to stop reading history. Although Sun Yat-sen's "Daqin Empire" is a historical novel, it is inevitable to be interpreted and cannot be trusted. But the main historical facts are absolutely unambiguous, and the details in many places are unique; In addition, the fluent writing style, biased written narrative language, especially the rich dialogues and delicate inner monologues between characters are really amazing and memorable. Wonderful debates are now overlapping, especially Qu's argument in Mohist General Hospital, Shang Yang's lashing at the forces hindering reform, and Zhang Yi's refutation of the incompetent passages of Confucianism. It's really magnificent, sharp-edged, and stirring, which makes people enjoy watching. These arguments, even now, are extremely sharp opinions. During the Warring States period, the rise of the literati class led to a great surge and agitation of the whole social ideological trend, which in turn led to great changes in the whole society. What a memorable history this is. I was lucky enough to enter that era again.
I am most interested in the rise of the Qin Empire.
How can a poor and weak backward western country get rich in Qiang Bing and unify the whole country through reform? Under the guidance of Mr. Sun, I realized that this is not only the rising process of a country, but also a great fission and generation of China's original civilization, and it is also a crucial period for the foundation of Chinese civilization to be re-recognized, re-watered and reunified.
Perhaps these are too profound, but this is a cognition that is ignored by too many people unintentionally but probably intentionally. The rise of Qin was accompanied by the contempt and containment of the princes in the world. The strength of Qin State depends on the gathering of talents, and the decline of Qin State begins with the persecution of talents. The demise of Qin is even more incredible and full of doubts. Today, people's understanding of the Qin empire still stays at the level of understanding Qin Shihuang and Terracotta Warriors. As for the evolution of civilization behind these, we know little or don't want to know. Even exploring the reasons for Qin's demise, there is only a specious conclusion that "tyranny killed Qin". My understanding of the Qin empire is basically at this level.
The loss of classics in the Qin Dynasty reached an appalling level, so when the Qin Dynasty was dying and later generations tried to get a glimpse of its face, everything was so vague. What happened after the Qin Dynasty and how did it happen? Someone should think about this question, and more importantly, someone should answer it. History has lost too much information, which has affected people's cognition and judgment.
This set of books subverted my cognition, which made me return to the position of rational inquiry and began to think about some seemingly uncomplicated problems. For example, are Qin people Chinese? Where did they come from? Where does it belong? What is the reason for its demise? Why didn't the main force return to Li at the last minute?
Qin's ancestor was a meritorious tribe that fought against Dayu's water conservancy, not Xirongdi, but a direct branch of Chinese ancestors. Even the characters used by Qin people at that time were in the same strain as Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. This is not difficult to find as long as it is objectively studied in history. Moreover, the Qin people once defended the western border of the Zhou Dynasty, and finally stood firm in the bloody battle with the western nomadic tribes such as Rongdi and opened up their own living space. During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Qin became the founding vassal, and its prominent position was beyond doubt. Reading notes. But Shandong governors turned a blind eye to this, or deliberately ignored it, or were hostile to each other. With the narrow psychology of "if you are not from my family, your heart will be different", qin keep was kept in Hangu Pass for more than 100 years. Qin's backwardness has its own reasons. There are too many wars and wars to develop production. Needless to say. But the contempt of the princes shows the arrogance of the powerful, and there is no justice or morality at all. The war caused by contempt is even more cruel, which is far from what they say about king and benevolent government. Even if the Qin people's ancestry is not correct and their behavior is indecent, they will not be so unfair and miserable. How ridiculous it would be to link it with the Qin dynasty's theory of violence of its exiled nobles after the demise of the six countries. What's more, the ancestors of Qin people are so prominent, and the civilization they created shines all over the world, shining on future generations and spreading from generation to generation. When Qin became rich and strong, Shandong governors began to say that Qin deviated from the patriarchal clan system, bullied the weak and wicked, and competed to curse the "country of tigers and wolves." The rise of weak forces is usually deterred; However, the reason why Shandong governors blocked Qin was really not on the table. Later, the Qin Dynasty ruled the country, and the adherents of the six countries were still bent on restoration, but they turned a blind eye to the consolidation of China by the empire. From this point of view, the demise of Shandong governors obviously has such blind and arrogant reasons. The failure to face up to the rise of other forces and the lack of clear and effective coping strategies eventually made Shandong governors forgotten by history.
The rise of Qin is also an exciting event. Talent is the key to the rise of a country. Since the appointment of Shang Yang, Qin's policy of attracting talents from Shandong has not changed. Although there were frequent incidents and extreme incidents in which scholars from six countries were expelled under the "expulsion order" of Qin Shihuang, the national policy of recruiting talents, knowing people and being good at their duties has never changed. Under the guidance of this national policy, Shang Yang, Zhang Yi,,,, and Li Si came to the State of Qin in succession. As for professionals in other fields, such as soldiers, soldiers, etc., there are countless, and the gathering of talents to Qin is really spectacular. At this time, Wei, as the cradle of talents in the world, was unaware of the loss of talents, and the temple was full of all kinds of mediocrity and dignitaries. Other countries are either puzzled or indifferent. They don't understand the reason for the brain drain to Qin, and they don't want to discuss it and plan countermeasures, and they can't see the brilliant future brought by Qin's strategic vision. But with sour jealousy, satisfied with the psychological comfort of ancestors' achievements and past achievements, staying in the stage of verbal curse and lack of progress. No wonder, the six countries all perished in the end, and I still can't understand why they came to this step. Without the assistance and respect of talents, what can a country's prosperity depend on? Qin is backward, but it has the courage to face up to backwardness and catch up, which is the struggle trend of the times and a wise choice to conform to history. This kind of mind of Qin was lost in the six countries of Shandong.
In the twilight of Qin, it was really the sorrow of the empire, which made people cry. Even when Qin was paralyzed and the morale was cut off, Qin Jun could still use "Old Qin, * * * went to the national disaster together" to unite the morale; What is even more shocking is that all the wounded soldiers in Qin Jun committed suicide at the last minute, and they will never be dragged down by the army. Which army has such awareness and such bravery? It is really embarrassing that such a powerful army finally went into decline.
The main force to curb the world rebellion turned out to be an army of torturers. Criminals punished by the empire can be turned into an army by the empire, invincible and destroyed all the way, which will deal an almost devastating blow to the restored military strength of the six countries. What kind of cohesion this should be. It's hard to say who will win the battle between Qin and the restoration forces of the six countries, if it weren't for the palace of the Emperor of Qin, which destroyed the pillars of the empire and hurt the morale of the soldiers. At the last moment of the empire's demise, the two main forces were stationed in the South China Sea and Jiuyuan in the north, preferring to die rather than move the diligent king; I would rather die of civil strife than the Huns going south to disturb the Central Plains, and don't go north to disturb China. What kind of thinking is this? I really don't know how many times more noble and great than the nobles restored in the Six Kingdoms.
The Qin Empire had a noble spirit. The ancient prophecy of "being born" inspired the Qin people, but did not anesthetize them. Qin people did not stop fighting, but thought that human actions were the actual guarantee. All the kings of Qin consciously followed this thought. In the world of great struggle, Qin people's efforts are really rare and sober. It was once the common mentality of the six countries to cling to fate and lie in the cradle of fate and wait for its arrival. Wei, in particular, is not saddened by the brain drain, but comforts himself with his own fate. At the last moment, Wang Wei was still busy in the mastiff kennel, and he had no concept of home and country at all. God bless such a country not to perish.
Mr. Sun Haohui thought, precipitated and practiced for sixteen years, and finally became a famous work. Looks like my time is too short. I feel sorry for Mr. Sun. Mr. Sun was able to think from the perspective of the generation of the country's primitive power and put forward various new views and opinions on the Qin Empire, which reflected the conscience and courage of a historian.
In this era, national rejuvenation and national rise have become the trend. In this era, such works are needed. In the face of history, we have no reason to bypass it, let alone ignore it. From a contemporary perspective, the great cause of reunification initiated by the Daqin Empire is still brilliant, which makes people look up.
