How to feed and manage dairy cows in perinatal period.
Perinatal period refers to the period before and after delivery 15 days. The prenatal period is 15 days. (1) The dry matter in the feed accounts for 2.5%~3.0% of the body weight, and each kilogram of dry matter in the feed contains 2.00 energy units of dairy cows, crude protein 13%, calcium 0.4%, phosphorus 0.4%, concentrate/roughage ratio 40: 60, and crude fiber not less than 20%. Reference feeding amount: mixture 25 kg, silage 15 kg, hay 4 kg, supplemented with trace elements, vitamin A and vitamin E, and low calcium feeding method was adopted. A typical low-calcium diet is that calcium accounts for less than 0.4% of the dry matter of the diet, and the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is 1: 1, which reduces postpartum paralysis. However, the amount of calcium in the diet should be increased rapidly after delivery to meet the needs of milk production. (2) Manage the cow transfer room 15 days before labor. The delivery room should be quiet, clean and sanitary. Designated personnel are on duty day and night. According to the expected date of delivery, do a good job in cleaning and disinfecting the delivery room, delivery room and midwifery instruments and tools. The external genitalia and hindquarters of cows should be disinfected before delivery. Under normal circumstances, let it give birth naturally, and if midwifery is needed, strictly disinfect the arms and instruments.
