It should be one of the ancient folk customs in China to regard a child's name as "keeping a good job". When we were young, we always heard the names "two dog", "Potato" and "Xiaohua", but we didn't know what these lovely children, like crops and weeds, grew up to be.
The same is true of vegetation. People are too lazy to take care of plants that thrive easily on the water in the mountains. They took some rustic names, such as "acid grass" with sour branches and leaves, "milk cabbage" with milky juice when the stems and leaves were cut off, and "plumeria" with yellow and white flowers.
In our hometown, there is a kind of golden floret in summer, which is everywhere in the fields. People call it "plumeria". Herbs with bright and delicate flowers. When people go to the field to weed, they use a shovel to shovel the egg yolk petals and roots onto the ridge like fried poached eggs.
Just as people in every village are called "flowers" and "stones", there may be Huang Cancan flowers called plumeria everywhere. But only the yellow flower growing in tropical and subtropical areas of China, Mexico and Southeast Asia showed its business card, which read: "I am a real frangipani, and there are my standard photos in the botany book." Indeed, this "genuine" plumeria not only obviously blends the colors of "protein" and "yolk", but also can be picked and dried to make herbal tea. Whether it is "the Monkey King" or "Liu Er Macaque", plumeria with approachable names is not only widely planted, but also has a high appearance rate. It is often picked up by various artists and paired with beaches, swimming pools and blue sky. Its picture conveys a self-evident message: I am on vacation at the tropical seaside!
