Beijing Medical University integrates teaching, scientific research and medical treatment, focusing on undergraduate education and postgraduate education. Peking University Medical Library originated from the National Library of Beijing Medical College established in July, 1922. The collection of books is mainly biology, medicine and health. By May of 20 10, the library has collected more than 700,000 books (including the library of affiliated hospital). There are nearly 4,000 kinds of Chinese and foreign paper periodicals, including 78 1 kind.

There are 25 198 kinds of electronic journals, including more than 5000 kinds of biomedical electronic journals.
