Harbin university of science and technology, harbin university of science and technology, located in Harbin, is a university founded by the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. Selected as "Basic Capacity Building Project in Central and Western China", "National Key Discipline Project with Characteristics" and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education.

The "National Innovation Experiment Plan for College Students" of the Ministry of Education implements universities, scholarship receiving institutions of China government for overseas students, national new engineering research and practice projects, domestic "double-first-class" construction universities in Heilongjiang Province, and the first batch of demonstration universities for college curriculum and ideological and political construction in Heilongjiang Province, which are members of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

As of March 2023, the school has three campuses in Harbin, West, South and East, and four campuses in harbin university of science and technology Weihai, Rongcheng, Shandong Province, with a total area of1644,400 square meters, a teaching infrastructure area of 983,000 square meters, a library collection of 2.678 million books and 20 1800 e-books.

There are 7 post-doctoral research stations, 8 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 22 first-level disciplines authorized by master degree, and professional master degree authorized categories 1 1; There are more than 2,400 faculty members, full-time teachers 1600, and more than 32,000 full-time students.

By March 2023, 23 majors in the school had been approved as national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites, 16 majors had been approved as provincial first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites, and 16 majors had passed the engineering education certification;
