General situation of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology library.
Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology was founded in 1960, formerly known as Nanjing University Meteorological College, and 1963 was changed to Nanjing Meteorological College with the school.

In May, 2004, it was renamed with the school. The new building covers an area of 324 14.72 m2, and opened on February 25th, 20th10.

Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology Library is one of the libraries with the most complete collection of atmospheric science literature in domestic university libraries, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China has also established the Nanjing Atmospheric Information Service Center. Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology Library has formed a collection system featuring atmospheric science and covering many disciplines and specialties. The library has 65,438+0,245,000 paper documents, 65,438+0,649 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and 24 large-scale online databases and CD-ROM databases. The library adopts Huiwen document information service system, which realizes the computer management of the whole process of library document resource collection, cataloging, collection, circulation, reading, retrieval and information consultation service, and constructs a reader-centered information service network.

Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology Library implements open-shelf management and "flow-reading integration" circulation mode in all lending offices and reading rooms, and strives to improve the utilization rate of various literature information resources. Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology Library has four department-level units: document acquisition and editing department, circulation department, periodical information department and information service department. In 2008, the library had 59 staff members.
