The Municipal Education Bureau is the functional department of the Municipal People's Government in charge of the city's education. The main responsibilities are:
(a) to implement the education policy of the party and the state, the laws and regulations on education and the relevant provisions of the higher education administrative departments, and to check the implementation of the school; To study the major issues of the city's education reform and development;
To study, formulate and organize the implementation of the city's general education development plan and annual education work plan; To study, formulate and organize the implementation of the development plan and annual education work plan of the city's higher education, vocational and technical education, adult education and preschool education in conjunction with relevant departments and units.
(two) comprehensive management of the city's basic education (including special education, early childhood education), vocational and technical education, higher education, adult education, high school education and below organized by social forces, adult higher education self-study examination and continuing education; Formulate academic standards and assessment methods, and organize and manage the training, further study and assessment of in-service primary and secondary school teachers at all levels.
(three) to be responsible for formulating the basic standards for school buildings, venues, books, teaching instruments and experimental equipment in ordinary primary and secondary schools, vocational middle schools, adult schools and kindergartens; According to the authorization and management authority, examine and approve the establishment, renaming and merger of relevant primary and secondary schools in urban areas.
(four) the management of the city's high school education and entrance examination; Organize supervision and evaluation of popularizing nine-year compulsory education with high standards and high quality, eliminating illiteracy among young and middle-aged people and developing high school education; Organize educational scientific research and teaching research, compile necessary auxiliary teaching materials and evaluate teaching quality; Undertake the specific work of the education supervision office of the municipal government.
