Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in Erdao District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, was founded in 1952.
1999 was integrated by Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics of China Academy of Sciences (formerly instrument hall and electromechanical research institute established in 1952) and Changchun Institute of Physics of China Academy of Sciences (formerly Institute of Technical Physics of Jilin Branch established in 1958).
The main research direction of the institute is the research and development and production of luminescent optics, applied optics, optical engineering, precision machinery and instruments, and participated in many national major engineering projects such as "two bombs and one satellite" and "manned spaceflight project".

The Library of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded in 1953, and has built a collection system with optics, photonics, photoelectric technology and precision instruments as the core, supplemented by mathematics, astronomy, technical science, metallography, metallurgy, aerospace and military technology and other related scientific fields.
According to the statistics of official website Research Institute in February 20/KLOC-May, there are more than 70,000 books in Chinese and foreign languages, more than 3,000 periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages, 6,543.8+0.7 million books and more than 5,500 SPIE conference records.
We have purchased Springer-Verlag, Elsevier, SPIE, ACS, AIP and APS full-text databases successively, and linked with EI, China Science Digital Library full-text database of Chinese sci-tech periodicals, CALIS foreign language periodical catalogue database and other databases 10.
