There are 20 post-doctoral research stations in the school, 28 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines, 45 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines, and/kloc-0 authorized points for master's degrees in two disciplines (the first-class disciplines are not covered).

As of May 3, 2020, the Shanghai University Library consists of four branches: the main library of Baoshan Campus, the Qian Weichang Library, the Wen Hui Library of Yanchang Campus and the United Library of Jiading Campus. There are more than 4.038 million books; Order 149 1 paper newspapers and periodicals; Ordered 80 kinds of electronic literature databases, including 64,000 kinds of electronic periodicals and 7.488 million kinds of electronic books.

The collection resources cover all disciplines of the school; Provide China Knowledge Network (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP Chinese Sci-tech Periodical Database, Superstar E-book, New Oriental Multimedia Learning Platform, Web of Science, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct, Elsevier(SD), Springer Link and other databases.
