Chifeng Museum shows several cultural peaks of the Neolithic Age, Northern Bronze Culture, Liao-Jin Period and Mongolian-Yuan Period in Chifeng area in the form of special exhibitions, which highlights the archaeological culture, historical and cultural characteristics of Chifeng area, comprehensively reflects the cultural characteristics of each period, and forms a unique exhibition style of Chifeng Museum.
Introduction to the Museum The museum mainly includes three exhibition areas: Light of Civilization, Bronze Age and Grassland Empire. The Light of Civilization Exhibition Area mainly introduces the fine cultural relics of Neolithic Xinglongwa Culture, Zhaobaogou culture, Hongshan Culture, Fuhe culture and Xiaoheyan culture in Chifeng area.
At present, there are more than 10,000 pieces (groups) of cultural relics/kloc-0 in the museum, of which 80% are archaeological excavations and some are collections and donations.
The collection includes: ceramics, bronzes, lacquered wood, jade, stone tools, bone tools, mussels, iron, gold and silver, silk, leather products, murals, paintings, jewelry and so on. Among them, first-class cultural relics 103 pieces (group), second-class cultural relics 228 pieces (group), third-class cultural relics 854 pieces (group), Hongshan Culture Gouyun Yu Pei and Hongshan Culture stone carvings, Zhaobaogou culture phoenix pottery cup, Xiajiadian lower-level cultural painted pottery, Ximeng coin pottery fan, Liao Dynasty three-color Yuanyang pot, Qing Dynasty golden nanmu urn.
