Xiaoshan Library, formerly known as the county-level public library, was established in the Republic of China 10 (192 1), and 1956 was approved by the Culture and Education Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Committee to become one of the first county-level public libraries in the province. 198 1 year was established separately. In February 2007, the new Xiaoshan Library was officially opened to the public. The old museum at No.83 Wenhua Road and the new museum at No.958 Midtown Road provide public cultural services for the citizens of the new and old cities respectively. In July, 2008, according to the spirit of the document "Implementation Plan of Xiaoshan District Public Library Chain System" 434 1 ",Xiaoshan Library made every effort to build Xiaoshan District Public Library Service Chain System. At present, 548 branch libraries have been built in the whole region, which has truly achieved "one card in hand, borrowing all over Xiaoshan".

Library buildings and collection resources:

The new Xiaoshan Library is located in Xiaoshan District Cultural Center, which is the main building of the Cultural Center. Xiaoshan Cultural Center has a total area of 44,000 square meters and a total investment of 230 million yuan. Among them, Xiaoshan Library directly serves readers with an area of more than 10000 square meters, which is the largest free public service space in the whole region, open to all members of society, and all collection resources are free to read and borrow. Absolutely guarantee the public's right to enjoy the cultural information service of the library, so that readers can truly feel that Xiaoshan Library is the public's own study.

Based on the local economic and social development, Xiaoshan Library has built a unique collection structure. In 2009, the special fund for book purchase was 2.2 million yuan, and there were more than 580,000 books in the collection. Collect rich local literature information resources, put 7500 volumes (volumes) of ancient books into the library, and purchased four collections, such as Catalogue Series of Si Quan Shu, Continuation of Si Quan Shu, Collection of Si Quan Shu, Forbidden Books Series and Ancient and Modern Books Collection. In 2009, we subscribed to 860 periodicals and 225 newspapers, including 23 foreign original editions. Subscribers are providing online information services to the public through digital resources such as Apabi e-books.

Institutional settings:

The whole library has four business departments: document service center, network service center, local document center and social service center. At present, the new library at No.958 Zhongxin Road and the old library at No.83 Wenhua Road are open to the public continuously every day 12 hours, and more than 500 branches that have been built and operated in the whole region are open to the public for at least 30 hours every week.
