In the 8th year of the Republic of China (19 19), the preparatory work was started. Li Jiecheng, then the county magistrate of Kaiping, took the lead in donating 300 yuan as the start-up expenses, and appointed Guan Juan, Wu Zaimin and Xie Zuokang to raise money in Hong Kong and other places, which won the support of Tan Xuanting, Huang Hanguang and other compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao.

In the 9th year of the Republic of China (1920), the school officially enrolled students, and the school building was temporarily located in Ding Xin Ancestral Temple in Chikan Town, which was called Kaiping County Middle School. First enrollment 100 students, divided into two classes. Li Jiecheng, the first principal, was later entrusted to Guan Juan to handle the transfer.

In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), the school set up a school building committee to prepare for the new school building. The people of Situ Jiaolun Hall in Chikan donated 96 mu of Yangmaozhou as school land, and donated 50,000 yuan (silver) to build the school; Chikan Guangyutang donated 6.5438+0.5 million yuan to the school; The school-building committee also appointed President Shao and Teacher Situ Du to go to Southeast Asia to raise HK$ 40,000 from overseas Chinese.

At the end of the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935), the first phase of the project was completed, and the teaching building (Jiaoluntang Memorial Hall) and dormitory building (Guangyutang Memorial Hall) were built. In the spring of the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), Kaiping Middle School moved from Guanding Xinzu Temple to a new school building for classes.

In 29 years (1940), high schools were added.

In 35 years (1946), it was renamed as "Kaiping No.1 Middle School".

From June 1949 to June 10, Kaiping County People's Government took over the school.

1960, renamed Kaiping Middle School.

1968 changed to Chikan Commune Middle School.

The name of Kaiping No.1 Middle School was restored from 65438 to 0978.

1March, 993, with the withdrawal of Kaiping County, the city was renamed Kaiping No.1 Middle School. In the same year, it was rated as the first batch of first-class schools in Guangdong Province.
