In the printing process, the ways to reduce pollution are nothing more than printing materials, printing machinery and printing technology.

1. Vigorously develop environmentally friendly inks.

Green ink is composed of pure natural materials, which has good fluidity, suitable dry handling and good adhesion. Ink with bright colors and good transparency. Uv-curable ink (UV ink for short) is a kind of UV-curable ink which can change from liquid to solid under the irradiation of UV light with a certain wavelength, and no solvent will be discharged. Uv ink has the characteristics of fast curing speed, environmental protection and good printing quality. Uv ink contains no solvent, no solvent volatilization and no pollution to the environment. Printing paper can be recycled, reducing the waste of resources. It is considered to be an environmental protection product with almost zero pollutant emission and has the reputation of "green" products with energy saving and environmental protection.

At present, the overall development direction of ink is towards water-based environmental protection ink, solvent-free photocurable ink, special environmental protection ink adapted to different new materials, and lightweight high-performance ink that attracts nano-materials.

2. Develop environmentally friendly flexographic printing technology.

Flexo printing is recognized as one of the best and most promising ways to print drama. On the one hand, it has wide adaptability and is economical. It can not only be used as a technology for printing picture books and photo books, but also be used for printing promotional products such as leaflets or brochures. On the other hand, it is more important that flexography uses water-based ink, which has good printability and excellent environmental protection performance, just in line with the green development trend of modern packaging printing. Flexo printing has developed rapidly in developed countries such as Europe and America because of its good printing quality, wide range of printing materials, low input, high output and good environmental protection performance. In America, flexography is even called "packaging printing".

3. Develop waterless offset printing technology

Alcohol vapor is a serious cause of health hazard in printing workshop, and alcohol will pollute the environment. Therefore, since alcohol was used in printing technology, people have been exploring ways to cancel the use of alcohol. Elimination of alcohol fountain solution by waterless offset printing technology. The more important it is to environmental protection. Waterless offset printing is not widely used at present, but from the perspective of environmental protection, all new technologies, new materials and new processes that are beneficial to the environment will have great development prospects in the future, especially with the development of digital printing technology.
