An important treasure of Zhengcang Hospital
There are three main sources of its treasures: first, the exquisite China cultural relics introduced to Japan in the Tang Dynasty; Second, western cultural relics introduced into Japan through China; Third, Japanese imitation of China cultural relics made or created in Nara era. Zhengcangyuan has a collection of about 300 pieces, including paintings, swords, mirrors, weapons, musical instruments, buddhas, utensils, Four Treasures of the Study, clothes, tableware, toys, books, medicines, spices, lacquerware, pottery, dyed fabrics and glassware. Most of them were brought back to Japan by diplomatic envoys and overseas students in Tang Dynasty, and they were the representatives of the excellent culture in Nara era and Tang Dynasty in China. There are still some treasures from the Silk Road in ancient West Asia, Central Asia or the Mediterranean coast, and Zhengcangyuan can be said to be a museum of fine arts and social sciences in ancient West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, China, North Korea and Japan. Among them, the most important cultural relics are mother-of-pearl rosewood Ruan Xian, mother-of-pearl rosewood five-stringed pipa, gold and silver flat back octagonal mirror, silver flat back octagonal mirror box, gold glazed cymbal back twelve prisms, painted gold foil painting plate, poplar rattan screen, beauty screen under the tree, cup, lacquer Hu bottle and geisha face.
