The collection of ethnic languages10.4 million volumes, including Mongolian, Tibetan, Uighur, Kazakh, Korean, Dai and Yi languages. There are more than 2000 Tibetan scriptures in the museum. Tibetan version of Ganzhuer, Manchu version of Shengjing Fu, Manchu version of Jin Ping Mei, Chinese version of The West Chamber, Mongolian Letters Collection, Chinese version of Imperial edict, etc. It is also a special collection of this museum. Burma's Wenbeiye Sutra, Naxi hieroglyphics and Chagatai manuscripts are all rare and precious documents.

There are more than 63,000 foreign language books in the collection, including 47 languages such as English, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Russian, including more than 20,000 foreign language books on ethnic themes.

There are more than 95,000 bound volumes of newspapers and periodicals, including 47,000 bound volumes of newspapers and 48,000 bound volumes of periodicals. Among them, 19 12- 1928, the relatively complete Official Gazette, Research on Kangzang, Pioneer of Kangzang and Kangdao Monthly are particularly precious.
