Jinzhou Railway College is a junior college, and Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College is a provincial full-time general higher vocational college.

Jinzhou Railway Institute was established in 1948, with a total area of 285,000 ㎡, of which the headquarters covers an area of134,000 ㎡, the building area of 1 19800 ㎡, and the total fixed assets are nearly 220 million yuan. However, Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College was upgraded to junior college in 2008 and managed by the Provincial Department of Education. The school covers an area and the total fixed assets are relatively small.

Jinzhou Railway Institute is semi-militarized, with rich academic resources and good social reputation, which has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the society. Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College mainly focuses on railway transportation, and has 70 practical training rooms and training fields, among which the training center, signal training base and training station of transportation receiving and dispatching trains have reached the advanced level in the industry.
School teaching facilities and resources are different.
Jinzhou Railway Institute has standard plastic track and field, various stadiums, gymnasiums and other cultural and sports facilities. The library has 337,500 books and 2.3T digital resources. Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College has built 55 off-campus practice bases between schools and enterprises, and the library has relatively few books.
