1902, the Special Study Room for Western Studies of National Shanxi University was established, which is the predecessor of Taiyuan University of Technology and one of the first three national universities established in China. The history of the library evolves with the development of the school. Over the past hundred years, the library of Taiyuan University of Technology has experienced the initial stage, the development stage and the transition period facing modernization. The current library of Taiyuan University of Technology was merged from the original library of Taiyuan University of Technology and the original library of Shanxi Institute of Mining and Technology on 1997. Now it has developed into a rich, modern, comprehensive and open library, and it is one of the largest libraries in colleges and universities in Shanxi Province.
