The school 1983 was founded in panzhihua university, 1994 merged with Panzhihua Education College, 1998 merged with Panzhihua Health School in Sichuan Province, and was transformed into an undergraduate college and renamed as panzhihua university with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 200/kloc-0. In 2004, Panzhihua Senior Technical School was placed under the overall school, and in 2005, it was added as a bachelor's degree-granting unit.
